Multifunction Tester for RCD, Earth Loop Impedance, Insulation and Continuity

The UNI-T UT593 Multifunction Loop and RCD Tester combines RCD testing with earth loop impedance, line impedance, continuity, insulation resistance, voltage, frequency and phase rotation checks in one instrument. It also displays prospective fault current (up to 26 kA) from loop and line measurements, so electricians can inspect and maintain an installation with one tool instead of several meters. The Auto RCD test runs the ×½, ×1 and ×5 tests at both 0° and 180° from a single press of the TEST button, then stores the results for recall. The Ramp test finds the trip current, and the tester also offers AC and pulsating DC (half-wave and full-wave) test types. Loop and RCD functions are specified for 220V ±10%, which includes Sri Lanka's 230V supply. It is rated CAT III 300V and is intended for 220V single-phase RCD and loop tests. The UT593 has no ×2 RCD test, which is available on the UNI-T UT595. Every unit ships with the manufacturer's calibration certificate, batteries included and a one-year warranty.

Which Tester Should You Choose?

The UT593 is a good fit when you need loop, insulation and RCD tests in one tool. If you test RCDs more than anything else, the UNI-T UT582+ single phase RCD tester is a simpler and more compact choice. Do not test live circuits in continuity or insulation modes. The RCD and loop tests operate on a live 220V supply, so follow the safety instructions in the manual. The listed ratings are CAT III 300V.
