Cable Length, Wiremap, PoE and Coax Tester with UT683R Tracer Receiver

The UNI-T UT685B KIT TDR Cable Tester measures cable length, shows the distance to opens and shorts, maps wiring faults and detects PoE on twisted pair and coaxial cables. Using time domain reflectometry (TDR), this network cable length tester reads up to 500 m with 0.33 m resolution, and you don't need a far-end adapter for length measurement. Built-in RJ45/RJ11 and F-connector ports let you test network, telephone and coax cabling without extra adapters. The kit includes the UT683R receiver for tone tracing. The 2.8" backlit LCD shows the wiremap, cable length and faults at the same time.

• Wiring faults: With the docking wiremap adapter at the far end, the tester reveals opens, shorts, crossed wires, crossed pairs and split pairs.
• PoE and live lines: As a PoE tester, it identifies Ethernet ports and PoE switches and recognises 802.3af/at standards (the user manual also lists 802.3bt). It warns when cable voltage is 10V or more and has 70V DC input protection.
• Coax: The coax cable tester mode supports 50 Ω, 75 Ω and 93 Ω cable.

This is a verification and troubleshooting tool, not a cable certifier. It does not measure network speed, bandwidth or coax RF signal level, and it cannot measure length past a telephone bridge tap. If you only need to trace and identify cables, the UNI-T UT683KIT wire tracer is a more affordable choice. Every unit ships with the manufacturer's calibration certificate, batteries included and a one-year warranty.
