Rechargeable Anti-Interference Network Cable Tracer with Port Flash and NCV

The UNI-T UT683KIT Wire Tracker is a rechargeable network cable tracer and tone and probe kit for crowded patch panels, cable trays and comms rooms. The transmitter sends a 125 kHz modulated signal, so the receiver picks out the target ethernet cable with strong anti-interference and without the usual analog hum. It can trace cables still connected to an active switch, router or network card up to 100 m. Disconnected RJ11 telephone lines can be traced beyond 3000 m. Press the flash button on the transmitter and its PORT FLASH light blinks in sync with the connected switch port, so you can confirm the right port quickly. The kit also works as a UNI-T cable tester:

• RJ45 validation: Insert the cable between the transmitter and receiver to check for good wiring, open circuits, shorts and miswires.
• RJ11 validation: Shows open or short circuits, positive or reverse polarity, and ringing signals or AC power on the line.

The receiver adds NCV detection for AC voltage above 40V, a flashlight, a sensitivity knob and a 3.5 mm headset jack. Both units run on built-in 1050 mAh lithium batteries that charge through Micro USB in about two hours. Do not use the kit on live circuits above AC 60V or DC 70V. It does not measure cable length or detect PoE. For those tests, choose the UNI-T UT685B KIT TDR cable tester, which includes the same UT683R receiver. Every unit ships with the manufacturer's calibration certificate, batteries included and a one-year warranty.
