When reflective tape cannot be applied to a rotating shaft — or when direct engagement gives more reliable readings — the UT372D's contact wheel attachment physically engages the shaft or surface to measure both RPM and linear surface speed in m/min. This makes it equally effective on conveyor belts, fabric rollers, diesel engine crankshafts, and any rotating component where non-contact laser sensing alone is insufficient.
