Elcometer 112 25–3000µm Hexagonal Wet Film Gauge in Sri Lanka
Stainless Steel Wet Film Thickness Comb
The Elcometer 112 25–3000µm Hexagonal Wet Film Gauge measures the thickness of a freshly applied wet coating. It is a reusable stainless-steel comb for painters, coating inspectors and quality-control teams who need to check application thickness before the coating dries. Browse our full range of coating thickness gauges in Sri Lanka to compare ranges and models.
Its hexagonal design provides either 24 or 36 measurement steps, depending on the model, with ranges up to 3000 µm (120 mils). Place the comb on the wet film, lift it and read the highest tooth that touches the coating; this gives a quick wet film thickness (WFT) reading that helps you control the final dry film thickness.

Key Features
- Wet Film Measurement
- Checks freshly applied paint or coating before it dries
- Hexagonal Comb
- Provides 24 or 36 graduated measurement steps, depending on the model
- Wide Range
- Available ranges extend up to 3000 µm (120 mils)
- Stainless-Steel Body
- Durable and reusable for site, workshop and laboratory use
- Easy Field Use
- Compact, lightweight and simple to clean after use
- Application Control
- Helps apply the correct wet film thickness for the intended dry film thickness
How to Use
Immediately after applying the coating, place the comb squarely onto the wet film. Lift it vertically and identify the highest tooth that has touched the coating. The wet film thickness lies between that tooth and the next higher tooth. Clean the comb promptly before the coating hardens.
Applications
- Wet film checks during painting and protective coating work
- Marine, offshore and shipyard coating inspection
- Quality control on tanks, pipelines and structural steelwork
- Application checks in automotive, aerospace and industrial finishing
Buying Guide
Choose the model that covers your expected wet film thickness with useful resolution. For thin coatings, select a lower-range comb with finer steps; for high-build protective coatings, choose a higher-range model. Remember that wet film thickness depends on solids content, so use the coating manufacturer’s conversion data when estimating dry film thickness.
